 St. Luke Elementary Choir  presents "Capt. Noah"
 
The Children's Elementary Choir did a super job presenting their 2007 spring play, "Capt. Noah's One and Only Zoo Cruise for Twos" on April 1.  This was the last production for our Children's Musical Director Alison Evans.  Congratulations to Alison and the cast and crew of "Noah" for a truly memorable performance!

St. Luke Welcomes Rev. Vance
 
Rev. Margaret Hutcherson-Vance is St. Luke's new Minister of Music.  Margaret comes to us from the First United Methodis Church in Ashland, Kentucky where she was Minister of Music since 1995.  She is married to Dr. Stuart-Morgan Vance, and have one child, Morgan Richard who is nine.  Please take the opportunity to welcome Margaret and her family to our St. Luke family!

Thank you, Trish!
For the last six years, Trish Lunn has served as St. Luke's Director of Music.  During that time, she has worked tirelessly to bring our church's music ministry to the the level of excellence we now enjoy at every Sunday worship, and at our special musical programs. In his "Notes from the Pastor" Tony pays tribute to Trish:
 
 
 
 
 
We will honor Trish in our worship services this Sunday. I know you will take every opportunity to thank Trish for the wonderful work she has done at St. Luke.    Thankfully, Trish and her family will continue to be a part of our church family, and will continue to be involved in the ministry of the church. Trish is the chairman of our committee to plan our 50th celebration next year. It truly will be a special time                                                                        Tony
 
 Choir Chime Group 
         
We are very excited about beginning a choir chime group this fall for ringers in Grades 5-8. There are 15 spots available. If you would like for your child to be part of this group, please tell Sandra or Shelly or me or call the church office - Trish
Mother's Day May 14 
         
Our Sunday morning worship included a wonderful Mother's Day musical tribute by Justin Evans, and a very special sermon by Tony about life and the power of resurrection.

Elementary Choir Sings - February 12
The St. Luke Elementary Choir gave us a special treat by singing "O, How I Love Jesus" at both the 9 and 11 o'clock Sunday morning worship services.  Mark your calendars for their Spring Musical on Sunday, April 2.
New Chancel Choir stoles  - January 15

Beautiful new choir stoles were dedicated at the morning worship services.  The stoles, given in memory of Louse Whitehead, have been in use for several weeks, showing the reverse "gold" side.  But on Sunday, they were turned to show the distinctive UMC  "flame and cross"
"Over-the-rainbow" Ringers perform - January 15

St. Luke XYZ'ers took up the rainbow handbells for their premier performance at the 11:00 service, equaling the enthusiasm and energy of their younger "Rainbow Ringer" counterparts.
All-Church Christmas Celebration - December 18
Over 600 worshipers were present for the All-Church Christmas Celebration titled"To: You - Love, God".   Featuring CELEBRATION, the Chancel Choir, PRAZ B2 GOD, the Children’s Choir, the Chancel Handbells, a brass quartet, a trumpet trio, and a flute/violin duet, all performing at both Sunday morning services.
